Thermal Imaging or “Thermography” is an FDA approved non-invasive health screening tool (a high-definition infrared camera) that creates a digital picture of your body and temperature patterns – these patterns may show abnormalities. The abnormalities are heat spots within the body and they are indicative of inflammation. Inflammation is the first sign of degenerative diseases, such as cancer, arthritis, heart disease, diabetes, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease, thyroid issues, problems with specific organs, and other chronic health conditions. Early detection of this inflammation can help to prevent those health conditions from developing. It is the only method available for visualizing pain in the body.
Thermal Imaging is particularly useful for breast health and the prevention of breast cancer. Unlike mammograms, thermography does not emit radiation. Mammograms emit radiation which can actually increase the risk of cancer. Breast thermography has the ability to detect the first signs that a cancer may be forming up to ten years before any other procedure can detect it. It is especially appropriate for younger women and women with denser breast tissue where mammography may not be as reliable.
