Empower Massage Therapy

51 US Route One, Suite R2 , Scarborough, ME 04074

I am a massage therapist specializing in pain management through myofascial and structural bodywork. As a bodyworker, anatomy instructor, and dancer, I combine my skills to help clients understand the basics of their own anatomy as they build body awareness and learn to navigate the pain on their own. I also enjoy making short, empowering videos about anatomy and body mechanics for everyday application. I teach anatomy & physiology at New Hampshire Institute for Therapeutic Arts in Bridgton, ME and I teach dance at Collective Motion Arts Center in Saco. I also enjoy making short, empowering videos about anatomy and body mechanics for everyday application. You can find these videos on Instagram (empowermassage), Facebook (Empower Massage Therapy) or YouTube (Empower Massage).

Emily is an excellent structural bodyworker with a strong intuitive sense of where to work and how much pressure to deliver to allow for a deeply relaxing and therapeutic experience. Highly recommend.

Emily was fantastic- the best massage I have had in the Greater Portland area. She is kind and considerate, has a calm demeanor and really was able to loosen tight muscles. Her use of aromatherapy was a delightful bonus. I would highly recommend Emily to anyone who wants a great massage!

Emily has a healer’s heart and an intuitive touch.  Her approach to bodywork is less about placing a bandage on a “wound”, and more about treating the “wound” on a holistic level.    I started going to see Emily as a result of limited shoulder movement; an issue that physical therapy was unable to treat.   Emily has an intrinsic understanding of how our bodies respond to different modalities of work. She’s inquisitive, and wants to fully understand her clients’ lifestyles and designs her work around her client; rather than a “one size fits all” approach to massage.  I simply cannot say enough good things about Emily.  I would unconditionally and without hesitation, recommend her to anyone (and have!).
