Christine Routhier LCSW, AFSW

Biography

The central premise of therapy is that thoughts, feelings and intentions can determine what we do. Thus, in therapy it is important to look at how our conditioning has produced one’s behavior.

Three things must be taken into account in the study of behavior. The situation in which one’s behavior occurs, the behavior itself and the consequences that follow. The relationship among these three things can be very complex. So, it is very important that you choose a caring and trusting therapist to help you untangle them.

Thus, psychotherapy has been shown to have many benefits. Therapy can lead to better relationships, solutions to specific problems and significant reductions in feelings of distress, sadness, shame, guilt, anger frustration, loneliness and helplessness.
