December, January and February are the months of the Season of Winter! According to the Five Element Theory practices of Qigong, Winter is associted with the Kidneys and Urinary Bladder, the Black Turtle, conserving our energy, the Water Element, as well as the Virtues of Right Willpower and healing Fear and Shock.
This Qigong Flow Foundations for Winter Workshop begins with an indepth discussion about the Qigong principals for Autumn according to the Five Element Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Topics include:
- Qigong Flow Foundations
- Kidney and Urinary Bladder Meridians (the organs of Winter)
- Ways to identify and address common Winter Qi imbalances (exhaustion, cold, lower back and hearing issues, etc)
- Important Winter Acupressure Points for Wellness
- Water Element Qigong Flows to clear the Kidneys and restore your Life Force
- Yang Sheng “nourishing life” recommendations for energy balance in Winter
Then embody these principals in a fully guided 1 HOUR Qigong Flow for Winter practice together! This workshop completes with ample time for Q/A and shares.

Bright Spirit Qigong classes follow the YOQI® Method of the Six Phases of Qi Flow (attune, purge, tonify, grow, circulate and integrate) within the framework of the Five Elements Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This balancing and harmonizing practice aligns your Qi energy with the unlimited energy of the seasons, the Earth, and the Cosmos.

This workshop does not require memorization of movements and all movements can be done standing, modified, or seated in a chair. No equipment required.

WORKSHOP RECORDING: The workshop will be recorded and a replay link sent to all ticket holders within 24 hours of class. Handouts will be emailed prior to class time.
Best practices: Space – Outdoors in good weather or indoors by a natural light source (window) with enough room to move your arms. Clothing – Loose clothing appropriate for the season. Foot ware – Barefoot or comfortable thin-soled shoes on a flat surface (floor, grass, yoga mat, carpet, etc.).

She has been practicing YOQI® Qigong Flow since 2018 and received her Associate certification in 2022 in Thailand and her Certification January 2025. She discovered Qigong when looking for an energetic grounding and meditative practice that was gentle on her physical limitations and promoted a sense of deeper connection with life. She loves guiding and sharing this incredible ancient wellbeing practice with others having been teaching online and in person classes and workshops since 2022!
