Loosen Up: Body Positive Yoga for Flexibility [6-class series]

6-class series to help open up your hips, hamstrings, & back

This 6-class series is based on the Science of Stretching™ and is a mat-based, targeted mobility training method that helps students with stiff backs, locked-up hips, and tight hamstrings.

Benefits of this type of stretching include:

  • Improve posture
  • Regain youthful mobility for day-to-day activities and travel
  • Improve sleep
  • Enjoy an active life
  • Enhance love life (need I say more about how flexibility can help here?)
  • Reduce pain, stress & tension
  • Improve circulation

I cannot promise we’ll reap all these benefits in just one 6-class series. This type of flexibility work takes time but coming to class each session is the first step! I hope you wind up joining me regularly as we work towards these very real, very attainable results.

I’ll also share some helpful “homework” you can put into practice in less than 15 minutes a day. Between that and biweekly classes to learn new stretches and techniques, you should start to see progress quickly!

We will be holding poses for 2 or more minutes so props can support you in staying in the stretch without gripping your muscles. For the type of stretching we’re doing, aimed at increased flexibility, we want to relax into the position.

You don’t need all this stuff so don’t get overwhelmed. One of each type using household items can serve you well!

Having them nearby is nice since you probably won’t know what you might want until you try it.

Prop Ideas:

  • Yoga block (2 if you have ‘em), thick book, or small step stool
  • Yoga bolster, cushion, firm pillow, rolled-up towel, or throw blanket
  • Chair or stool (to prop you up/hold on to or sit on)
  • Yoga strap, regular belt, scarf, or towel

We will aim to start on time. If you come in and class has already begun, simply put yourself on mute and join in!
