Mindfulness is a way of learning to relate directly to whatever is happening in your life. It is a way of taking charge of your life, a way of doing something for yourself that no one else can do for you – consciously and systematically working with your own stress, pain, illness, and the challenges and demands of everyday life. Restoring within yourself a balanced sense of well-being requires increased awareness of all aspects of self, including body and mind, heart and soul. Mindfulness-based stress reduction is intended to ignite this inner capacity and infuse your life with awareness.

MBSR is an 8-week program that provides you with tools to help you cultivate greater mindfulness in your day-to-day life. Each session is highly participatory, and the training encompasses a wide array of mindfulness practices, including sitting and walking meditation, mindful eating and mindful communication.

Decades of published research indicates that the majority of people who complete the MBSR course report:

• Increased well-being and happiness

• Less stress and anxiety

• Strengthened immune system

• Less emotional reactivity

• Greater focus and cognitive flexibility

• Greater empathy and compassion

• Lasting decreases in physical and psychological symptoms

• Reductions in pain levels and an enhanced ability to cope with pain

MBSR is for everyone. No meditation experience is required. The only requirement is the desire for greater awareness, balance, ease, and happiness. Participants will complete a background form and connect with instructors.

  • Orientation: July 6, 6-8:30 pm (ET)
  • 8-Week Course: July 13, 20, 27, August 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
  • Time: 6-8:30pm (ET)
  • Retreat Day: Saturday, August 21 | 9 am – 4 pm (ET) (Note: the Retreat Day takes place live online as well.)
  • Platform: Zoom – You will be provided a Zoom link and instructions upon registration.

    • Regular Registration from June 7 through July 6: $650

Evaluation Surveys

In order to enhance our quality of care, we ask all participants to fill out a demographics form and a 15-minute self-assessment survey before starting the program and then another 15-minute survey and program evaluation form after the program. Your support in answering these surveys will help us better understand the effects of the course on your mental and emotional well-being. At the end of the course, you can request a personalized report. The program evaluation is critical for everyone who takes the program whether the experience was pleasant or unpleasant, so we can ensure we can continue to improve the programs at CMC.

If you finish the surveys before and after the program, you will receive a 10% discount on our next offering. You can choose to use the discount or pass it on to your friends and family.

For scholarship recipients, since our scholarship spots are very competitive, the scholarship is contingent on your completing the surveys before and after the program. You can receive a $20 rebate back if you complete both surveys. This will also help us demonstrate the impact of the scholarship program and ensure that it remains available for others in the future.
